Mounter
I. Mounter Quality Control
The
maintenance for nozzles filters and tape feeders are required for both
types of Rotary and Modular Mounter.
(1)
Nozzles
Every alternate day, filter cleaning is a necessity action for operation
1005/24 hours. Although the frequency of cleaning is depending on the
sizes of nozzle, cleaning by using ultrasonic and double-checking by
using micro-scope for both of the top and inside of nozzles.
Dirt and dust will cause to lowering the vacuum pressure and leads to
pick-up error. Lack of nozzle tips must be replaced by new nozzles in
order to avoid multiple errors incurred by high-speed.
(2)
Filters
Filter exchange must be done weekly or every alternate week. We suggest
that it is better that do no reuse for saving purposes because the
cleaning is only applicable on surface, but for inner portion, it is
inaccessible. A little saver would cause a big loss instead.
Nevertheless, we still could consider cheaper filter like non-genuine
instead; for its regularity usage purposes. Certainly, I advice that do
not reuse filters after two weeks though it is still clean condition
because it is doubtful for not being get dirt in two weeks.
(3)
Cassette
Part feeders fit 0.5mm of component at the speed of 0.1 sec., just like
a machine gun.
Dust, distortion, and mis-adjustment will cause pick-up errors keep
incurring and certainly, low pick-up rate could also be caused by
insufficient feeders’ calibration. Hence, the exact and core reason of
causing such defectiveness like cassette parts wear/ tear, incorrect
pitch, dirtiness of cassette base, alignment, taping defectiveness
should be figured out before any calibration and leads to last longer.
Feeder pitch must be confirmed clearly and cleaning is encouraged to
carried out 3-4 months.

II. IC Placer
(1)
It is not necessary to carry out frequent nozzles cleaning on IC
Placer.
Cleaning done by air gun weekly will be sufficient to maintain its usage
period. It’s important that in an IC placer, the appropriate selection
of a suitable nozzle for IC/CN.
Uneven sizes of nozzle will be causing the electronically components
slip and shifting during the movement. If the area that the nozzle tips
contact with the component is small, it will cause Dry Joint. For low
productivity, different types of nozzle may not
be
necessary. However, using compatible nozzles is wisely encouraged
otherwise it will affect the quality.
(2)
Although it seems that we are seldom concerned
about pitch-misalignment of the larger electronic component, but it will
still be causing the pick-up error or mounting error when the point is
small like some connectors. It means that feeder pitch alignment and
cleaning still have to be done for
IC feeders.
As
the continuous IC feeders become loosen compared to high-speed shooter,
traditional
control on IC feeders is better be practiced.
(
As
for Rotary machine, taping dust spreads onto nozzle and cassette, and
hence cleaning for dust and filter must be carried out in order to avoid
quality issues from occurring.
