Mounter II

In my last blog, I discussed about the mounter speed; I will talk about the consideration of the conditions of production at this blog.

There are several conditions of productions for instance low-mixed with high-volume and high-mixed with low volume.

High speed chip shooter does not mend for this kind of production all the time.

Users must consider the numbers of component, size of PCBs, result of output, etc. which all these elements must be included in an extent of criteria of one’s selection.  Users shall have to plan a structured approach to finding and selecting appropriate machines to suit almost any situation.

Examples – Different Types of Assembly Methods:

(A) High Volume of Production

Option I

(1)                       - (Daily Production above 1 Mil Points)

Terms on combination of 2 units of mounters.

Modular Mounter

IC Mounter

45,000 cph

10,000 cph

Daily Output       = 55,000 x 22 hours x 85%

                        = 1,028,500 P (Chips only)

 Option II

(2)                                            - (Daily Production above 1 Mil Points)

Terms on various type of component.

Medium Speed Mounter

Medium Speed Mounter

IC Mounter

12,000 cph

12,000 cph

10,000 cph

Daily Output       = 25,000 x 22 hours x 85%

                        = 635,800 P

Option III

(3)                                            -  (Daily Production above 1.5 Mil Points)

Terms on various type of component.

Modular Mounter

Modular Mounter

IC Mounter

45,000 cph

45,000 cph

10,000 cph

Daily Output       = 100,000 x 22 hours x 85%

                        = 1,870,000 P

(B) High-mixed, Low Volume of  Production

Option I

(1)                              - Terms on less various type of component.

IC Mounter

10,000 cph

Daily Output       = 10,000 x 22 hours x 85%

                        = 187,000 P

Option II

(2)                              - Terms on high various type of component.

Medium Speed Mounter

IC Mounter

12,000 cph

10,000 cph

Daily Output       = 22,000 x 22 hours x 85%

                        = 411,400 P

Above selections are some examples of SMT production line concept, appropriate selections of high-speed, medium-speed and IC placer are important and thus the selection procedure may need to be more rigorous to meet users’ target.

Certainly, high productivity and efficiency in a SMT production line, and flexibility of production lines shall be reformed by depending on the meets of users – are the most important key concept of SMT factory.

The productivity and its efficiency are the most two elements critically shall be concerned about in SMT production lines where users are always under pressure of the reduction of production costs.
